    ShortStorie, To answer your questions-
    1. in the lake
    2. between one and fifty feet
    3.the end of my line!!!

But now that i know it's for scientific reasons I can give more info- I have been finding them on main lake flats that range from 2 to 8 feet deep. Use something with chartruse in it and fish it very very slow. Fish slow then slow down more almost like fishing a plastic worm for green carp. All the fish I have been catching have been males and you will catch 2 or 3 in a row and then go 15 minutes without anything. So i am guessing they are fanning beds moving out to the females then coming back in. My dad and I went out yesterday and caught our limits in 2 hours all over 11 inches. Hope some of this helps.

Hey new guy to this forum.I fish Smithville alot off & on, I do alot camping there also. New camper this year so I plan on lots more ,probably starting next week for 4 or 5 days. I fish out of a 17 ft.Tracker usually with my partner a 98 lb. black labrador retriever you can't miss us. I have not been out this spring yet but I agree last summer i would catch tons of crappie under 9" and then during the winter the must of all grew up,cause started catching lots in the 11 & 12" range. DAM that yearly pass is going up year to year....... See Yall.

Yea Everett that yearly pass for the truck and boat will set ya back $90.00. In my opinion that is crazy but I bought them anyways, not much we can do about it I guess. I am just hoping they will do some improvements to the ramps, campgrounds or bathrooms!!

Add me to the list. I fish it about 5-10 times a year, mostly in the spring, then move over to Perry in KS to catfish. I mainly fish near the camp branch arm, but have also done well up north of the bridge on the other end of the lake.

I'll be there this weekend. 18 foot flat bottom aluminum jon with a 50 evinrude. Should be a nice weekend to fish, drink, camp and drink.

Wow you bring back memory's for me, when I was a runt. I fished alot with my great-grandparents alot on Perry. We fished out of old town ramp, fished always south of the bridge, unless it was hot then it was under the shade of the bridge. Mostly the cove to the left going the lake down from the ramp. And across the lake by the marina, I would hate to see how many cats my grandparents pulled from that lake fishing it from the day it opened till the mid 90's. He had 16' jon boat with a 25hp evinrude, a 10' piece of conduit for a depth finder.
