Hey guys. My name is Mike and I am in the Air Force. I love to fish, but other than just a worm and bobber on a hook, I don't know much other than that. I ate my first crappie last witner and I am addicted. However, I cannot seem to catch them :/ Any advice would be great. I live in the Warrnsburg/Knob Noster/ Whiteman AFB area.

Welcome to the board, Mike. You live really close by to some outstanding fishing. My advice would be to read all you can out here. Exchange the worm for a minnow under that bobber and you should do fine. But perhaps the best thing (other than reading out here) is to ride with someone and you'll learn a ton about how to fish. Lotsa people out here who will offer you a seat. Come to camp this year, too...that's a great place to meet a ton of people and find open seats.

welcome to the site and as minnows will do the trick and then you can work your way into jigs. The spawn is just around the corner and when it starts I don't use minners , cus it takes too long to reload.

Young Squirrel welcome to the site. Keep them grades up and follow your dreams of being a warden. You will need a great job to have the money to chase the pro tour. Looking back I wish I would have changed my major to biology and became a fishery biologist or even a game warden.

What he said about grades. Do real well on math, sciences and writing (so many today can't do this worth a crap) and you'll find many paths open up to you. Math alone is proven to be a great mind stimulator and aids in understanding so many things in our world. Sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders, keep those dreams in front of you and do what ever it takes to move in that direction.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
