    Default Gettin' back at it......

Hey Folks, KennyB here. Retired/Disabled railroader here. I love fishing, cooking and sometimes I do some coyote calling. I grew up in central missouri, but my job forced me to the Kansas City area in the early 90's. I got discouraged and sold my boat. I figured I'd get back into the fishing when I retired. Well it happened a few years sooner then I thought due to a back injury. I'm planning on buying another boat this spring and take up where I left off all those years ago.
I like to fish for about anything that bites but love to catch crappie, walleye and hybrids. I live in Pleasant Hill, so I'll be hitting Truman pretty hard I expect, maybe eventually move down to the Table Rock/Bull Shoals area. Well I'm tying some old school crappie jigs today so I better get back to it if I hope to get many tied. Later

    Monk,
That would be a big help, I hear Bull Shoals can be tough due to it being so clear. My brother used to night fish it with lights and caught lots of fish. Thanks for the offer.

My name is Dan Wood, I worked with the FAA and that's where my screen name comes from. I'm new to the board but have been fishing most of my life. Got hooked on Crappie when I lived in Texas. Moved to Kimberling City when we retired in '06. Worked as electronic engineer for 40 years and my wife of 35 years spent 40 years as an RN. I'm 62 and fish out of a Tracker Avalanche with a Merc 150. I live on Table Rock and want to fish this lake and do what I can to encourage the Crappie population and fishing here. Have a grown and married daughter who lives in Branson with her husband. Would love any help I can get fishing Table Rock and am more than willing to provide the boat for someone who wants to go.

Welcome Crappiemafia1. It's about time you joined. You been lurking around here forever. Now you've joined the family but don't think for a minute you're a "made man" You gotta make your "bones" still, crappie bones that is. You gotta catch more fish than you have been to keep up with guys in this family. I mean, these boys know how to fish. Maybe they can get you to listen about how to catch the slabs. Lord knows I've tried.Doh glad you finally admitted to yourself that you got crappie fever.
Proof is in the pictures. Top is nine and bottom is Slabbenstein!

My name is Jeremy, I have been a member for over a year, but only recently started reading the Missouri board. I spent a lot of time on Kansas lakes last year, so I was mainly reading the Kansas boards. Overall, I am fairly new to fishing in general. I have fond memories of fishing with my late grandfather (who I rarely saw and barely knew) as a young boy, but as I passed thru high school and into fatherhood- I really had no interest in it. Then a few years ago, my ex-wife's father took me to a beautiful lake in central California (then later in a irrigation canal). We didn't catch much, but we drank many beers and had a great time. Last spring, Alice (my current significant other) and I started staying in her dad's camper on the weekends (mine are up to 4 days long). We happened to be there one weekend during the spawn and I had such a great time that I knew that I was hooked. I find it interesting that most folks give up after the spawn. Right now I am fishing from a canoe or the bank, but have recently purchased waders. Hoping to catch a ride occasionally w/ one of you and learn as much as I can here on the CDC!
    look me up on facebook!
