Sounds like fun times
Said it is time weather was not terrible and Jeff had been anxious to try it. So gave my hip an extra ibuprofen and headed to the lake. Went to brown's bend on LOZ and headed to the docks. Water was 40 degrees and in the 10-16 ft. depth range. Guess I should have found deeper water cause I sure could not locate a dock with many or any fish under them. But we got to shoot a lot of docks and tie on many jigs. Pics are of Jeff's first and first keeper sized crappie. Only three fish hit the 9 or better slot and the one I caught was so close I threw it back right away other two got released on dock where they came from. Still had a good afternoon of fishing.

Glad you guys got out. If nothing else, you logged some good practice hours!

Never shot docks but some make it look easy. I'm sure the owners would be removing my jigs for years!
Looks like an awful long rod to be shooting docks with from what I've seen but again like most things I have no idea.
Glad you caught a few and got practice!

glad you two got out on water anyway.
I like to shoot docks but I do it from on top of dock and side shoot. so much easier than fooling with a boat in winter. or really anytime.
Sounds like the good ole days. We caught a lot of em that way. You told me I was a natural, but you always limited out and I still needed to catch em.
