Truman in the Heat
I watched a video that made sense of hot weather crappie fishing. So, I did some homework and made my plan. The first area marked loads and loads of fish, only 1 largemouth. The 2nd area, 3 keepers in 10 minutes and 3 just at the edge tossed back. I figured I would catch more. Nope, only a 2lb catfish. I headed back to the 1st spot with trolling in mind. I got a triple... 2 fish on one rod and the 3rd on the other. A couple more and it went silent. 5 nice keepers! Oh and my fillet knife is SUPER sharp and 21" long. DOH Ended the day with super Sunset!

I did a search for "hot weather" crappie fishing. Basically two of them said they like channels and cover near each other. Deep water near drop offs allows them to regulate their body temp. Which makes good sense and gave me ideas to search in Navionics. The obvious is dipping trees, two reasons...
1. Shade
2. Ability to ambush their prey
A couple others said that bridge pilings are great too.
You add that all up and you can find areas to target late in the day.

BTW - we breaded up the 10 fish I caught this week and had fish tacos with beer batter and breaded fillets. If you have not tried crappie in fish tacos, you don't know what you are missing!
