I have a question for ya'all, has anyone gone thru the process of getting a tittle on a motor that didn't have one at sale time here in Mo.
I purchased one at an estate sale, the man who owned it had passed some 20 years before, the wife in her 80's was clueless about a tittle and has since passed o her self.
I did take it to a state troopers office for them to run the serial # and make sure it wasn't stolen. Came back clean.
When I filled papers thru the court for papers to be sent to Jefferson City so I could get the tittle, they gave me a court date, anyone know what that's about???
Thanks for any help...

I know of such an ordeal and it ended up needing a judge's signature. Maybe that is what the date is for.

Now that I've had some sleep and am thinking a bit more clearer...the clerk said something about making sure I showed up for the court date as some judges will dismiss it if you don't show up...don't know...But hope to get some clarity here in a bit...

Well for those that want to know, I was informed that due to the titled owner having passed, his spouse had passed since the sale, a judge had to make a Clarity Judgement in my favor in order for me to Be able to title the outboard...

how big of a motor is it? not that im necessarily advocating this plan, but ive owned probably 15 or so boats and a lot of them were small aluminums that didnt have complete paperwork. ive never had an issue, ymmv.
