Well, it won't be long and you will be really happy you have air conditioning. It gets HOT in the Ozarks. Good to see you escaped FL. (Son lives in Ft. Lauderdale)
Shoot me a PM with contact info. I get down to Stockton a good bit. Spring will bring good crappie and walleye fishing. Bass also. And a drum now and then.
Head out to Fellows Lake. There are areas where you can bank fish. Lake Springfield also. I grew up/lived down there 37 years.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

    One more thing.....
You are welcome at spring Crappie Camp at Bucksaw campground on Truman, just east of Clinton. "A" loop, look for the big white tent. Cruise up for a day, easy drive, wife/kids welcome. Hang out a bit and meet some of the finest folks here on CDC.
You might get in some fishin' on Truman.
Good eats Friday evening and a crappie fry Saturday evening. Several members have foundered but managed to recover.
Check out the Spring Crappie Camp posts. Bring cold weather gear and a life jacket, weather can be a bit "iffy".

Welcome to Missouri. And make sure you come up to camp the first weekend of May. Even if you don't have a boat im sure we can get ya on the water for some fishing. We all camp and you wont go hungry.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Day Dreamer, Sir as soon as I get thawed out a bit I'll take you up on that sir...Been in and out of the cold driving a truck, but always had the warm cab to retreat too...Haven't been in sustained cold where I'm in it more than out of it since I was on a major jeep- ex in Germany in 1980. We were in 0 and below with snow half way up a giraffe's neck for a week. had to start the trucks every hour around the clock to keep them from freezing up....reminds of then...BRRRRRRRR...hahahaha
