Same thing at LOZ there is nothing very consistent at all. I'm waiting for the crank bait bite to start up in mid May.
Fished the upper grand today and started out dipping trees and picked up a few small ones, headed to the back of the creek where I caught a few Sunday in real shallow water (3 ft) and found one hot spot on the bank that I pulled eight males and females off of.
I used a blk/chart jig a foot under a bobber, I finished up a limit spider rigging the trees next to the creek channel with minnows 8 to 12 ft down.
With the lake going up and down I don't think there will be a real intense spawn, I think some of them are spawning deep, the females I caught today off the bank were ready but the ones I caught deep still have firm eggs.
Heading to crappie camp Monday, should be an interesting week. : )
