    Default Smithville report 04.18


    Put in at W and shot upriver. Couldn't get much going on the bank so I backed out to about 15-20 fow and picked up a few, water temp range from 61-68. Minners was the only thing they wanted, would not touch a jig. Not a limit, but some nice ones, had a couple just shy of 2#.     I scratched out a limit this morning on a roadrunner. Couple here, couple there. A few were 5-8' off the bank but most seemed to be suspended a little farther off the bank. Most seemed to be out a ways off of spawning banks. I was on the main lake, they might be farther along up the river with warmer water. Got a bonus 18" walleye and 3 short bass. Too bad we're going to get a cold front tonight.
