Default I had a Crappie New Year

Buddy and I put in at Coffman this past Sunday. We caught 60-70 fish, but finished the day two short of our two man limit and most of those came from two docks. Several of my favorite docks didn't produce a fish for us so we had to find some new water. They also didn't have the shad hanging around like they usually do. Blue/white and blue ice were best colors. Never did really figure out if they were shallow or deep in the water column as we seemed to catch fish a foot under docks down to the bottom in 30' on brush. There were a lot of boats out that day so I wouldn't doubt if most of my docks didn't get hit already before we got to them. Overall size was down compared to when I went a few weeks ago, but I did manage to catch one 13.5" black with some shoulders.

    Good report!
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Way to start of a New Year. I had the tradition to fish every January 1 morning. Superstitious I would have a bad fishing year if I didn't go. Now I'm two straight years without a Jan 1 fish.
Awesome haul for the first day out. To Many more good fishes in 2017.

    Nice mess of fish there.
If we did what was most important in life there
would be a shortage of Bibles.................and fishing poles
