I tie directly to jig with braid ... and what I do is use a Improved Clinch, and leave a couple inches of tag end. Then when I'm cinching it down & it starts slipping open, I tie a double loop overhand knot in the tag end. That stops the slipping when that "granny knot" snugs up to the Improved Clinch. I use the double loop so as to make the knot bigger, since I'm using 10/2 PowerPro ... and 2lb test diameter line in a regular overhand knot just isn't big enough.
Now, I'm using the regular PowerPro ... so if you're using the slicker braids, you might want to make that a triple overhand knot
I've yet to have a knot fail, or unravel, when the Improved Clinch is backed up with the double "Granny" ... and I don't even have to use the "Granny" anymore, since my PowerPro braid is over 2yrs old and all the "slickness" is long gone.
