    Default Smithville Report 7/1

Fishing was good at Smithville yesterday. Summer pattern is on. Fished up river and caught 9 nice ones all over 11 including 2 over 14. I did catch about 20 dinks also. Here is a pic of one of the 14+

That's great....I tried dipping trees up there and only caught a couple keepers and a few shorts. Any pattern you want to share?

They were in 12 to 22 ft of water. I caught the dinks about 10 to 12 ft down. The bigger fish were hanging in 4 to 6 ft. Caught all on jigs, some on electric chicken, some on blue and chartreuse, some on blue and white. Dipped a lot of trees with no bites. Find the right trees and catch a few fish.

The whites were tearing the shad up on top most of the morning.
