What weight and type of jig heads are you using? I have been fishing a 1/16 oz roadrunner head and now wondering if I shouldn't go with one heavier or just slow my retrieve down.

For me 1/16th round head no spinner, #1 or #2 hook depending on bait size. I will also use 3/32nds with #1 sickle hook when shooting docks and the fish are deeper. But 1/16th is your all around best bet IMO

I use 1/16 round with sickle hooks. My retrieve right now is painfully slow. And I will pause a couple of times during a retrieve and let it fall few seconds. Many bites come on that pause. Im a line watcher also and use Vicious Panfish high-vis yellow line in 8lbs test. You get a bite on the fall or during windy days with slack in your line and you can see the line jump
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Can one of post a picture of what a Sickle hook is? Do you buy on line in quantity? If so, where?

I buy mine from a guy in Richland Mo. Seems to be the cheapest around and I usually by 1000 at a time. He has an E-bay store called wiseguystore. I buy from him and pick them up at his store in Richland saves me a little on cost because he don't have to ship them.
But there are many members on here that make and sell them. .

    I use a #2 sickle in 1/16 oz head and #1 in 1/8 oz

Hogster - Be nice if you posted a link. My ebay search yielded nothing.
