Default cranking time at loz ?

Gentlemen , i am heading for loz this weekend and it looks like the wind is going to be pretty stiff , 10 to 15 mph ,which in turn makes it tough to control my pontoon with the trolling motor and me feeling the bait would almost be impossible , was wondering if i would be able to catch a few pulling cranks ? Has anyone had any luck doing this at this time of year ?

Usually I wait until water temps hit about 70 degrees. That being said, a member on the Mississippi board won a MCC tournament in February pulling cranks. There was ice around the banks, the weather was crap but he caught a stringer of fish. You will probably catch a few cats this time of year. You just never know until you try
