Today probably could have gone just as well double pole slow trolling in the shallows. Deeper water holding crappie is best done with rigs.
We actually might have landed a few of the fish we lost if we were "pole in hand" fishing.
When do you guys hang up the spider rigs and start single poleing? I like rigging but I like chasing them with a bobber or dipping trees.

The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
Will be a couple weeks for the bobber bite to really get going. With that said I know a couple guys that have been whacking some shallow with a bobber. I believe it's more because of them up there chasing shad than it is the fish getting ready to spawn.
Thinking we are going to come back next weekend and stay at reel and trigger or bucksaw and was hoping to be able to jig some trees, but if the rigging bite is still on we can do that too!
What you looking for when you are rigging? How does a guy find the type of water or cover to try spider rig?
You find the right type of water by going fishing
This time of year they can be from the front to back and from the shallowest to the deepest part of the creeks and coves. It's all about covering water and putting a pattern together. It can change daily of the weather changes or they start pulling water. Yesterday was 3-4' down in 4-8 ft of water.
