Default Pomme wasnt nice to me today

Well I've had better days on the water. We got to Bolivar Landing bout 6:45 to find Joe Bass Series had a tourney out of there this morning It took forever to get launched then had to park way up the hill a good 300 yards past the picnic pavillion. Sit out a couple little thunder showers in a boat slip over in the twin coves then ventured towards the back of the cove with the docks going down the left side and caught several 8'' crappie then all heck broke loose i tied into a 5.87lb drum on a lgiht rod with 4lb. flourocarbon. got the fish in the boat went to make another cast and got the worst birds nest i've ever seen on a spinning reel. after cutting it out a rigging it back up i casted and same thing. i had cracked the bail arm on a brand new bps extreme reel. I managed to weigh in one .90lb. crappie and the big drum won me the biggest odd fish pot so im hoping the 16 bucks i wonbuys the bail arm for my reel. the best part of the trip was stopping at Fairplay for ice cream. any day on the water is good some are just better than others.

Doesn't sound like too bad a day to me, and you are certainly right all days fishing are good, just some better than others.

I was afraid it would be bad at Bolivar Landing. I met 8 rigs heading that way at 0500 while hauling yard sale stuff Bolivar for my wife. I circled through the parking area about 0630 and decided to hunt mushrooms instead. Sounds like I made the right call, found 52 morels.

joe bass had 55 boats fishing, pomme i think you made the right decision. id love to get a big mess of morels to go with some crappie fillets ive got in the fridge, 4lbs (best 5) won our club outting several guys got skunked, when we fish on stockton we stop at reds in greenfield and tablerock we stop at braums in aurora for hard ice cream ripn. the two guys that win the big crappie and odd fish pots buy the ice cream. it tops off a really enjoyable day for all of us.
