It went well... The Corps brought a barge, the MO Conservation Dept. brought 2 and Clay county brought one. Foresters cut 80 hardwoods from the area above the cove; volunteers used 2 ATV's and a log chain to drag the trees to an improvised loading area... smoothed a substantial trail in the process... a tracked front end loader with a clamp loaded one large tree on each barge which we weighted and dropped at bouys placed by the Conservation people. Gary Burton (Burton's bait & Tackle) threw out more bouys where he thought habitat would help protect fry. Then the operator of the Corps barge I was on asked if there were any spots where we would like a tree. I got trees in a couple of spots I like to fish... so did others on board. All trees went into the Crow's Creek cove... Some deep, some shallow. No problems... except for a a few huge locust trees that no one wanted on their barge! Lotsa hot dogs for lunch. All brushpiles were GPS'd and list will be made available.
