Hang in there, better days got to be coming.......... at least you got out and give it a whirl......all I done was watch them old worn out u tube video's of crappie fishing.......
Went back to Bridgeport and fought the wind for about 2 hours. I had two small fish on and lost them. Stuck one monster of some type and had it for about 30 seconds then we went opposite directions at a high rate of speed. Said to heck with it and dropped the boat off at Tangora's in Nixa to get the trim fluid leak fixed. Who knows when the next opportunity will arise.

A FISH IN THE PAN IS WORTH TWO IN THE LAKE
Like oss said at least you are able to get out, that beats me.
I got to go out on Sunday Jan 26th. I went up flat creek to the mud flat on the left hand side of the lake that borders the highway (above Mash Hollow). I found several fish and caught between 15 and 20 crappie, however, I only had 3 keepers. Talked to a guys fishing up shallower on that same flat and he had 11 keepers. He was using a double jig rig, casting it and working it really slow. He pulled one in that was huge. I was spider rigging. Hey DOFC, if you see a blue and silver Ranger 320V w/ 100 hp Mariner and six polls out, stop and say high. I am usually in black ski bibs and a red jacket so focused on my DI hummingbird that I do not really notice anyone else. Come on up to Flat Creek above pt 15 and we will hammer then together......hopefully.
Sounds like a deal to me. Strangely, I've never fished above the boat dock on Point 15. If I go up, it's always up James.
What do you do to catch em up James? I have wore them out the last two years between Blunks and McCord Bend between late June and Sept. There is a lot of structure, submerged trees etc up there that those slabs like to pile up around.
Last year we had a spot just above those three docks on the left where some brush had gotten washed in on the channel drop. The brush was in about 8-10 fow and at that point the initial drop was down to about 16 fow. there were several morinings that we had limits before the sun came over the bluff. They don't seem to be there yet this year though. Then that flat just above there on the right would have been a rigger's dream. Not big fish, but lots and lots of 11-13 inchers. Of course this year the lake stage is about 6 feet higher; so..........
Dragged the boat down to Point 15 today. Not a good idea but it got me out of the house for a couple of hours. No open water around point 15, and very little below the bridge. It wasn't very thick, so I think this crazy warm wind will probably take care of it tomorrow.
You will find them next time!
Hey DOFC, Thanks for breaking up the ice a little the other day. I probably wont get down to the lake this weekend. A lot to do. If this crazy weather will line out, I think I can catch em up Flat. Are you talking about those three boat docks right on the bend of James below Pt 15 on the left? If so, I think I found that brush pile last year, but there were boats all around it every time I went up there.
