Red face Good Day at Twain 9/26

Found fish deep, had to have at least 25 fow, caught most at 18' on submerged structure with shad bunched around it. Used a double rig with a jig on the bottom and a minnow on a bare hook 12" up. Caught almost all fish on the jig so I gave up on the minnows. Black/chart w/ a orange head. Bite was light, very few thumps, just a heavy line. Caught 40 to 50 fish with a lot around 9" (so there is hope for next year), kept 12 that were from 10 to 11-1/2. Water temp 70, stained but not muddy. A great day to be out. Can't wait to go next week.

Way to go N2Crappie. Glad you got some. Water was only what I'd call lightly stained where we were. Fishroper and I hit Indian and Little Indian for several hours Friday and only had a few bumps. Not one fish caught. We were using lighter colors primarily, and primarily fished much shallower, 15 and up, but still 25 or so FOW. Talked to a few guys, and they didn't seem to be doing much better. I think one guy said he had 3 in like 3 hours. We did see several large groups of shad at the surface quite a ways up Little Indian. Nothing busting them up though.
