It is just about the most MONEY they can rake in.
Shame. A college kid gets an inexpensive way to fish local lakes and a parks dept. takes it away

I doubt the sticker for a kayak costs much. It ould allow him on Jacomo, Blue Springs, Longview, and Prairie Lee.
Yes the sticker is only $24 I think, but the problem is that First you have to register the boat with the state ,apply for a title ( FEE +sales tax on how much it cost),then register it on your county personal property tax role, then buy 2 sets of number/letters stickers to put on each side of said boat. Now you can get that permit for the those lakes. Like I said it is about the $$$$$
Yup... That's what I had to do to put a canoe on Jacomo.
I can tell ya from duck hunting... any vessel on public waters in Missouri has to have MO boat numbers on it. Sure you might not get a ticket... but sooner or later you will...
Paddle Boats? I see them all over the Ozarks without numbers?
I fished Tarsney lake in grain valley yesterday and they had a guy in a kayak fishing.....no permit needed. He done pretty good....i limited out, 30, in just a few hours.....not very big some fun fishing for sure.
Good catch and report.
