And the moral of the story is? Sorry for the tough day but I’m sure there will plenty of full sink days in your future!
and I know this cause I was there, got to the storage locker at 8ish, no problems, 8 in of snow in front of the door,,,, but unlike Ford,or chevy, the ole Big Dodge never slipped a tire, just dug in and out we go...
Started out on the bluff by U highway bridge, dipping trees, slow trolling, and pitching let fall, and not one bite, move a long way too.
moved on westerly, fished around the trees, channel drop, dipped some more, nothing, moved to the flats, slow trolled some more, nothing.
tried different depths, baits, and styles, alas to no avail, zip, moved on west seen 5 boats in the cove, stopped and visited with Jim and Bob, they were riggin, and doing rather well...
Me I never got a fish, no minnows and minnows seemed to be the bait of choice for today, oh well I think what a great move I made, Heck I could have got skunked on stockton or the rock and drove 100 miles less.
I am having a crown and seven crown back, and Miss Sharon is fixing chicken wings and corn on the cob for supper.

A FISH IN THE PAN IS WORTH TWO IN THE LAKE
Stinkin, slimy azz minners! Hate em! Lol better days ahead beagle!
Can I come over for dinner?
I am glad you got your boat out so easy with the Ram. Sounds as though you gave them every chance to bite.
Don't know about the minners, haven't used any in years.
Hardhunter2 might be right about the slimy smell, but I wil tell you that I bought some slabbusters in Clinton last year that were scented that after I put one on an dipped it the water for awhile. I cranked that lure up to the end of the pole and laid it down back behind me. It wasn't but a few seconds and the guy in the back started cussin and accused
me of passin nasty air. I threw it away just to shut him up. Then I had that smell on my hands and it stunck so bad I had to put my fish cleaning gloves on to eat my sammich. Everything was okay till the next trip to the lake and started to rig up, opened my jig box and that smell of that "SCENT" took my breath and started my eyes to watering so bad I could hardly see to get the box shut. Been venting that box for a couple months now, but I don't think there is much hope in salvageing anything.
Heck now that I think of it I never got a bite on any lure in that box after I put them things in there.
Beagle maybe you better check to make sure somebody didn't slip one of them in your box when you was eatin your sammiches. Coulda been what was wrong today.
You can bring them smelly garlic baits to me. I will put some in every box. I buy the Bang Garlic by the half gallons now. Truman fish are stupid from what I have been told and they love garlic. Beagle sorry about the rough day. Minnows is by far the best bait right now and will be until the water temp gets up around 45.
Dfar, with you on that garlic crap, Jared uses it to run everyone off that gets close to him, u can smell that crappola for a mile or more...
