Smithville 5/2 .. got to meet ShortStorie!!
Fished the bank from 11:00-3:00 .. 13 over 10", largest about 13". The bite wasn't nearly as good as it had been lately and most were a little further out. Tried a bunch of different colors .. red/chart with a roadrunner-type head was best. The snakes are definitely out .. they crack me up when they try to attack a fish coming in. The freakin' flies were out in force also .. they were killing me! If you're heading out to fish the bank in shorts, you might think about bugspray!! To my pleasant surprise, I already knew one guy in the boat that was fishing close by and the other guy in the boat was ShortStorie .. who was definitely out-fishing me! Nice meeting you Mark .. hope to see you out again.

yeah bugs bad... We fished all over from W bridge to 1/2 way up river. Tough bite on jigs- very finicky fish. Fished 4 hrs in pm and got my limit but not easy

"That kid is a pretty good fisherman!" ... Don said when telling about meeting you on the rip rap earlier. When he pointed you out, I said "What kid?" He was right about the good fisherman part, however.
We ended up with 10 fish between the two of us... Caught all of them off the rip rap on the north side of the "W" / Owl Creek bridge. Minnows and jigs. Largest about 13". Had tried the coves farther north with no luck. Would have tried more spots (and probably caught fewer fish) if my trolling motor hadn't stopped working. Worked fine when I got it home... DUH?
