Thread: Smithville 2-27

Thanks for all the welcome messages. I look forward to attending some of the get togethers. Just hope my wife can get used to all time I would like to spend on the lake. This stuffs addicting. I'm hooked I just hope I can get the fish hooked too. Already thought of a question too. I hear people talk about the names of coves and areas of the lake is there some sort of map that has all of these names so I can better familiarize myself or is that a "your gonna have to learn it rookie" thing?

I think someone mentioned that the hotspots(?) map had cove names, but I'm not sure.

Get you a Smithville map rogers, wally world, buttons. Not sure if they have all the names of all the coves,bring it to one of the get togethers and we'll get you started!!!!!!!!!!!

They are hot spot maps about 12 bucks at walmart

Regarding the map, last time I was at Rogers (just off I-35 north of Liberty) they did not have the maps. However they had $68 worth of other stuff I found very important to take home with me.

I've never fished smithville so can't help ya there but welcome to the board from SE. MO!!!

Welcome to the board....that was a great report. We don't really hide "secret spots" from people and have a great time giving each other the business. For instance......I heard all those guys running around in red boats at Smithville use some left over "little blue pills" to entice the crappie to "grow bigger"......just sayin'!!!
