    Exclamation Snake in the boat

I forgot the most exciting part of my trip to Stockton the other night. I just got set up, sit down with a cup of coffee, looked up and a snake was about 4 or 5 feet from the boat, coming at me like a torpedo. May have been the way the light was shining, but it looked like about a 7 ft long rattlemouthcottonmocasin. Thanks to my 4 ft long fully automatic boat paddle and a lot of cussin, I finally ran him off.
LIFE IS TO SHORT TO FISH WITH A DEAD MINNER AND I WISH I WAS SOMEWHERE HOOKING LIP.

Good thing you got that nasty thing out of there! I ran into my first snake of the year today as well! Don't know what kind it was, sounds like your rattlemouthcottonmocasin, but that sucker was headed for the boat as fast as he could go too. I gave him a good whack with the ugly stick but the dummie kept coming so I hit him a few more times to make sure he got the point! Needless to say if he would have made it in the boat, I would have been out of the boat and everyone around would have been laughing!! Why are snakes in this world again??? LOL

Thats funny. I was cleaning up the brush behind my shop last weekend and found a 5 foot black snake. Mrs. Speck was playing in her flower bed so I thought "what the heck" I carried up there to show it to her.:D She turned around and jumped 3 feet in the air, screamed and did 3 laps around the house without touching the ground. I guess she doesnt appreciate a good mouse hunter like I do.

I think she about scared the poor thing to death. The ole black snake had a very confused look on it's face. I guess it never saw a fat lady move so fast!!!

Ohhhh Speck i hope for your sake she dont read this. Little ole snake never hurt no one that didn't try to hurt it first.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
