Twain and crappies and last minute high water
well, all set to head up to twain until monday. can,t wait to get there. the only problem is this sudden water rise. the corp was doing a great job at holding the lake between 609-610 for the spawn, but mother nature had other ideas. now the lake is almost at 614 and is expected to top out at 616. at twain, higher water levels have been good for me in the past, but the lake was stable at the time. unstable water at twain has proven a challenge for me. so, what do you guys resort to during these times? even if you fish another lake I'm still all ears. do I finess fish the bushes close to bank? or look for the reaction bite of the crankbait? spider rig bluffs? so many decisions!
at least I know this; the crappie are in the water and the beer is in the cooler. tight lines, everyone!

SP,
This high water is how Mother Nature protects her feesh! The lake has been gettin WORKED lately.....with that said, l'd start heading back to the creek channels and fish the wood where the fish (and you) can relate to....maybe later in the day try some green??? Could find some chasin the bait.....either way, good luck and report back!
