    check your ground wire from batteries at the four prong connection, my screw comes loose and my motor will quit

    If you can't get a reading off any of those wires under your foot pedal it sounds like maybe your four prong plug has a loose wire. Take the plug apart and check the screw connections.

    there is a trolling motor repair man that is liscenced for warrenty work. He is located in a warehouse at the end of terrace south of 31st street on kansas city missouri's west side.I don't have his phone number with me right now if you cant find it pm me and I will get it to you. Have had so work done there and highly recomend him.

    Has water in it maybe. spin prop and bump button if it works brushes are shot probaly do to water.

    If its a newer model MinnKota (after the Maxxum came out) I know they've had issues with the switch board. A family friend found this out after it spent all winter overloading his circuit breaker and killing both his batteries... he ordered the repair kit and it seemed to be working out fine this year. My dad's 74lb Maxxum did the same thing and he was smart enough to put a non-automatic resetting circuit breaker, so that saved his batteries.

    Just a thought.
