Thread: First Annual Kansas City/Smithville Crappie Camp

Can we get a side event that weekend to see what side Jack ended up on? I'd pay to see that!

I voted for the 13th and 14th at Crow's Creek. As far as picking spots, my folks camp there with their trailer (not to say they are creatures of habit, but they actually will move after they get there to obtain the EXACT same space every time...).

The area on the east loop Bill was talking about has electric and water hookups. There is an easy walk to the water and while the cove on the east shallows up pretty good, it does seem to be protected from main channel boat wakes.

It's a great area and this is an awesome idea.

Now for my next question. They are calling for 14" of snow tomorrow....anyone planning a get-together at a bar someplace?

Count me in for the May Get Together. That will be a great time!!!! It is right before the wife and I leave on vacation. Maybe I can bring my crappie pole and tackle box with me....I wonder if a guy can catch any crappie off of one of those cruise ships? I probably better get my crappie fix in before we head off to Greece and no, Bill, I'm not singing anything from the Mama Mia Movie, in case you are wondering.

What the heck did I do to you guys??? Flip me? My boat is an 07 and I'm itchin for a new one. In keeping with the traffic on Smithville, I'll just play bumper boats with you all; Keefer and Alex, you will be first with Joedog (If I am still afloat) a close second

OK Bill, looks like the polling is closed. The verdict is the first Smithville Crappie Camp will be on 5/13 - 5/14 at Crow's Creek. So that being said, all we need is the find out who wants to come. Bill called and confirmed that we need at least 10 camp sites in order to reserve a spot all together. Once Bill and I get at least 10 folks we'll start collecting funds.

Hello everyone.

As a newbie to both Smithville Lake and this forum, I was excited to hear about this event. My wife and I don't camp, but we'd still love to run into you to swap stories and strategies for Smithville and most importantly to meet you. It's always good to have friends on the lake!

I'll watch this forum for more info.
