I know here goes lenny with my being tight again....... just like my using them southern pro tube bodies...$2.69 for 50 2" versus $3.29 for 10 or 12 bobby garlands...... catch just as many on southern pro as I do bobby garland, and the southern pro crappie are cheaper to catch, and then I use Bob's paddle tails and they are free, but I run out of them pretty quick.....hell I ain't cheap I paid $2.68 for a gallon of gas today to go tomorrow......

Dam.........now with all this talk I might have to go buy one.

Let me know how you like it...something about buying local that feels good.

You might try one of these also they are more sensitive than an Ozark and ya wont break the tip the first couple of uses.I fished with Ozarks for years and i have replaced more tips than i want to remember.Ozarks are a good rod dont get me wrong but these are more durable and actually lighter.Alittle cheaper also i think. They ship them fast also.

I have mostly Wally Marshall's in 6 1/2, 10' and one 12, but ever since Beagle put his Sam Heaton in my hand I've been scheming on a way slip one past the Missus:D I will admit I am a rookie and not used a lot of different tackle, but man did that Sam Heaton feel good! Light, well balanced and VERY responsive!
Now if I could just will the lottery:rolleyes::D

My go to rod is or was rather a 6 ft Eagle Claw Featherlite (FL-202). It has wire guides and is super touchy. I like it cuz you can bang the tip on the docks in the winter to knock the ice outta the guides. They were like $20 and you could get em at Bass Pro in Eldon. Now you cant find em anywhere. I still have one but its about a foot shorter from hooking into a striper last year while crappie fishing. It used to be a 2 piece but JB Weld has made it a 1 piece. Don't use it hardly ever but will always take it in the winter just in case. Found some decent lightweight rods at Cabelas in KC for the $20 price but busted the tip on it the first day I used it. I like em about 6'6" or less but cant really afford to go out and buy expensive stuff. Guess I'll have to give one of those Ozarks a shot.
Proof is in the pictures. Top is nine and bottom is Slabbenstein!

If you want one for multi-uses I would go with an Outlaw rod. I do not have one myself and have no affiliation with them. If you are wanting a very light weight dipping rod go with the 10 ft Ozark for sure. I used them for years with no issues at all. But if you want a rod that can do it all for you and cost less than $50 I would go with the 8 ft 2 inch Outlaw or the 10 ft outlaw. They have bigger spinning eyes than the Ozarks do for easier casting. But if you want to really lay you hand a great rod like you said to start this thread that is an extension of your hand I picked up a 9 and a 9 1/2 ft Fenwick ultra light last week at Everhart's. It felt better than any rod I have ever had in my hand. It will cost twice what an Ozark will but it would fit your statement better than any others I have mentioned. I own none of these above rods that I am talking about have in the past. If it was me for a all around rod under $50 it would be the Outlaw. For under a $100 it would be a Fenwick ultra light. If over a $100 it would be a Loomis float and fly rod in 9 1/2 ft or a rod made by Leland from Cherokee rod company.

Well I have recently became the proud new owner of 2 of the 8'2" Outlaws and all indications so far is that they are a fine rod and we are going to have a long, lasting relationship I also have a 10' Ozark for dipping that is a fine rod as well. If I were buying it would definitely be one of those two based on price and quality of rod.
