Ok, well if most everyone is camping on the lower lake then that where we will plan on being as well. The Corp of engineers campgrounds are first come first serve but looks like there should be plenty of sites. I found their website that list the campgrounds. Looks like Oak Grove on the lower lake has water AND electrical hookups so that is probably where i'd want to be. Anyone, not familiar with the area like me may want to check out this website. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers -- Vicksburg District Also, check out the link the the map of sardis lake. Pretty good map with lots of detail.
Anyway, looking forward to it. Hope to catch lots of fish. Should be a fun weekend & looking forward to meeting everyone.

    Thanks Nessa
Looks like Oak grove would be a good spot. Do they have a pavillion we can use for the cookout? Can we book the pavillion ahead of time? I know in some of the areas you can book them but I don't know about in the campgrounds.

Well I called the corp. of engineers & there is not a pavillion at Oak Grove. Out of curiosity I also called the state park & surprisingly they do not have a pavillion either. Sooooooo, if there is not one close by I guess we can make do without. Maybe there is one at another campground close by? Not sure. Anyway, worse comes to worse we can just gather in one central area. Maybe set up a couple canopies or something for shade and everyone bring their lawn chairs.
I have never been to Sardis lake so I am just relying on what I can find on the internet. If there is anyone else that is familiar with the area that can make any suggestions that would be great.

I plan on staying in Oak Grove campground. John Kyle is on one side of the lower lake launch while Oak Grove is on the other side. Oak Grove is a first come first serve campground. It is a COE campground. So, half price for anyone with a Golden age pass, making it $8 a night. Although the back loop that is right on the lake fills up fast, there should be plenty of room elsewhere in the campground.

I will be setting up early and plan on saving a spot for Billbob as well. There is a pavilion just the other side of Oak Grove that would be close for the Saturday night get together.

I will probably go down and set up camp on Tuesday the 2nd. Anyone else that would like me to get them a spot, just send me a PM.

Just talked to Ted. He will be down on Wednesday the 3rd. If I can get the two or three spots I would like, there will be plenty of room for a couple of tents.

You guys are killing me with all this camp talk and planning. Think I am going to have to stay off of here until it is all over. Man, the AIr Force could not have made this trip at a worse time. HEY WB, will you sling some poo for me?
