What's the verdict on your boat? Did them folks come to their senses and warranty it for you?

I don't blame you. Should we all come back down there and help persuade them for you?

Patrick you should call them every day and tell them what the promble is and maybe they will give you a new water pump!!!
I don't know what kind of motor you have and they may all be the same. I had a 4 stroke Yamaha that went through 3 water pump impellers in 3 years. I also had to have the carbs cleaned twice. Yamaha told me that it is normal to replace a water pump impeller every year. I may have been ignorant but none of my old Merc's or Evinrudes had that problem And to see that Yamaha impeller and see what it cost shocked me. I finally got rid of that Yamaha and figured it was just a lemon. But they did not warranty the impellers.
it's a 2008 Mercury, and they say the same thing check em every year, but the prob is it ain't even a year old...
I have a 86 model 15 hp evinrude that has litterally been put through the ringger. I was hard on it for many years....It's on it's second water pump....and that was before I was old enough to use it by myself....
Yeah, I plan to complain to the manufacturer, but I have got to have it this weekend...
I replace the water pump in mine EVERY year regardless of how it looks. Theres nothing like launching, cranking up and seeing that the motor aint peeing. The kicker was that I drove all the way to Chotard one June (from Ridgeland). The big bream were jumping in the boat and there I was with no outboard because the water pump had decinegrated. I was stuck fishing right across from the landing and caught very few while everone else was going about 1/2 mile up the lake and burning them up. At that point I made myself a promise! Every august I take my merc down to Smith's marine and let them snap a water pump on her.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day working anytime. So says the Perchmaster!!!
