Default MK i-Pilot vs i-Pilot link

Is link worth it? I’m trying to decide if I want to upgrade to link. I have PDv2 with i-Pilot now. I like the cruise control and straight line track or follow a recorded track and spot lock features. Just curious if it’s worth it to upgrade. I would have add a HB unit to it (more $$). I can’t find an upgrade kit for PD models but see it for Terrova’s/Ulterra’s. Could you take one of those heads and retrofit it to a PD or easier cheaper to get newer one with link?

Unless you link it to your Humminbird GPS maps you don't need Link. Linked to your maps you can use the gps to control the trolling motor to follow a contour.

Humminbird graphs plus I pilot link is awesome. Especially if you like to follow contours, shorelines, etc. had my link going on 6 months and have got spoiled

Time you are all in it would almost be a wash just to get a new one, especially if you have a lot of use on the one you have now. Only downside to me is the touch sceeen remote. I’m always inadvertently changing things but I’m sure there is a way to lock it, but me and technology

And if you are doing with a new TM and have a different brand graph, looking into their trolling motors garmin sand Lowrance both have one that integrated to graphs, all brands won’t have all the same feature though so do your homework

I have two Garmins now. 106sv up front on bow with LS and 93sv at console. I have two helix 5’s but no networking on those. Even if I get a new MK link I still need HB graph so new is out. Trying to find used at reasonable price. $3600 pricey for a Force but it does link.

Go to bass boat central forum and look up Wayne P. He is the ultimate in knowledge for humminbird/MinnKota. He may know a cheaper way to make your PD into a link.
