I hear ya those look tasty. Well I just purchased a javelin 366 fs from this older man that told me he would give me 250 to get it out of his yard lol. So I said no let me give you $200 and a thanks. So come to find out the 150 johnson runs perfect it has a brand new 70lb thrust minnkota trolling motor and everything works. I think I got the deal of the decade. The only thing it needs is new carpet. So I am going to make that boat the crankin boat haha. My other boat is rigged for everything else already. The paint does have that thick milky color to it from sitting in the sun for years. Does anybody know someone that can shine it up for me around memphis or surrounding areas?

Do it yourself with 3M Marine Compound and Finishing Material. Get yourself a cheap buffer at harbor freight. Put it on and buff it off while it's still wet. Then wax it, It was miraculous on my old 1981 Glastron boat.Name: Screenshot_2019-05-08-08-51-45.jpg

[QUOTE=Mac Daddy;3833201]I actually start in early March in South Arkansas. Water temp is usually in the mid to high 50's when I start. Here's a pic from March 16th this year.Attachment 342063[/QUOTE
What speed do you pull that early?

Ok with that said, what is the slowest one could pull Pico crank baits and be effective? Wondering if I should even attempt this or just cast them in kayak.

I usually pull them at 1.2 - 1.3 mph. But it's mainly because the lake is full of stumps and I don't like hitting them with my trolling motor going any faster. It's also harder on my drags when they hang up going any faster. I pull at that speed there at all times.

    I’ve caught them from 1.2 to 3.6

Last year me and Will were fishing and weren’t picking up fish like we should have been. Marking fish but they just would not come up and hit a crank.
So I decided to move about 600 yards to an old lake bed.
I fired the motor up turned around and was idleing toward where I wanted to go and caught 2.... bout the time will got’em in another pole went off..
now I don’t know how y’all brain thinks but if it happen 3 times in my boat there’s something to it. So we left the big motor idleing, I stood in the floor steering and we went back and forth over the same area we’d been working over all morning and wore’em slap out at 3.4-3.6. First time i had ever caught’em that fast. Never even tried that fast before just because my TM won’t pull cranks but about 2.4 wide open.
