    Default Pulling cranks

What time do yall start pulling crankbaits? I did it last year to see what it was like and it was fun. Caught alot of fish at sardis and enid. So just curious when it really picks up. I fished crankbaits at the end of june and it was Hot. So just wondering if end of may it will be good crankin weather. Bandit 300s killedem.

Was thinking about pulling next weekend at Sardis myself. I'm sure there are fish to be caught already out there.

M R Dux and Finiman placed 5th. It was a team effort all the way. We finished 2nd in Amateur at the Crappie USA on Barkley Lake a month ago pulling PICO INT cranks also. Barkley surface temps were barely in 60s. Rend were in mid 60s.

We qualified for the Crappie Masters Classic at Grenada in September. That will be PICO City!!

When the spawn is over, you can start. Any water temp above 70 is a good starting point. The biggest thing I look for is current. If the gates are running, it really helps. My 2cts

Ok I thought the thermocline is the #1 factor for crank baits. When the water gets real warm. I could see it on my graph last year and they were right above it and it made it easy to find them.

Agreed, but they will hang at certain depths anyway. Early on, I start at 8/10' and go down from there.

I actually start in early March in South Arkansas. Water temp is usually in the mid to high 50's when I start. Here's a pic from March 16th this year.Name: IMG_20190316_171455430_HDR.jpg
