Default Grenada report and thank you for the info

Wanted to put up a little report as payback for all the PM's and replies from my thread a couple weeks back, and thanks to all who helped out with some info!

Some friends and family have been doing pretty good on the south bank of the yalobusha arm, but we put in at skuna-turkey and went back up the creek a ways last Friday (did not get to go the weekend I put my thread up).

We fished pecker deep to calf deep water alongside the creek for a few hours and wound up with 9 keepers and 26 throwbacks. Water temp at the ramp was mid 60s at launch at 12 PM and 70s when coming back at 630ish. Skeeters ran our tails off early.

Most throwbacks were, per usual, riiight there at the threshold of being keepers.

Best pattern seemed to be a 1/8 road runner with orange head and bigger Colorado blade, followed by a green Southern Pro umbrella glow jig with either a bass rattle poked inside or a mini glowstick poked inside. The glowstick seemed to do best. They really slowed down in between 2 and 530 and it seemed like the water was falling some based on the marks on nearby trees. They kicked back on at around 6'ish, but, again, the skeeters were about to tote us off and we had no skeeter dope.

My fishing partners (and many others for that matter) laughed at me when they saw my glowstick rig, but they had one tied on when they saw the damage it was doing. It's hard to tell the difference it makes in daylight, but when you see it at night you can see how it would really help fish key in on the bait when it's a foot down in that muddy dark water.

Unfortunately, because the skeeters were tearing flesh away from us by the minute, we did not get a pic of the goods before loading up. Guess you'll have to take my word for it via honor system!

Anyways, wanted to pay it forward! Going back in the morning since it looks like the water is coming up a little after the rain. Good luck to all!

Great report, don't forget the skeeter spray next time. And nat spray.
