Very nice
The wife and I caught a few this morning. Fish were still in some what deep water 12-14' about 7-8' down. Spider fishing with minnows. Water temp was 61° and it was a chilly 39° weather to start of the morning. Warming into the 70's by lunch time. Hope everyone is having a good spring. Tight lines and I hope you fill the boat with crappie.

Dang good feesh right there Scratt! I figured the crappie would've been much more shallow in that little lake than where you found them. Shows how much I know, lol

Very nice average and a great looking bunch of fish. I am pretty sure I saw you yesterday about noon. I was crossing the bridge and saw a boat spider rigging up from the bridge close to the west side. Saw three or four rigs fishing but only one spider rigging. I have though about you a good bit lately. I normally go look at the lake everyday at noon. I work in Quitman. It's a beautiful lake and I know it produces. Congratulations on the good morning and thanks for posting.
THAT IS SOME NICE FISH
CATCH THEM ALL.
Scrat, I was just curious to know if you have tried pulling cranks there. I tried once last summer but had trouble staying in the creek channel. Needless to say I didn't have much luck. I plan on spending some time this year trying to map out the creek channel and trying it again. Would love any input or advice you may have. Looking forward to your next report!
I mainly spider rig with minnows and cast jigs. Rees Guide pulled crank baits last year and caught some good ones. John is a pro at fishing crank baits. The creek channel is very crooked and hard to stay in and a lot of shallow water in places.
Here is some I caught this morning casting jigs.
Be safe and good luck fishing
Thanks for the reply Scrat. Rees hooked me up with a pile of Arkie's last summer and I am chomping at the bit wear some of the paint off of them. My wife's uncle and I managed to put a few in the boat a couple of weeks ago there at the bridge but nothing like what you are pulling out.
Maybe I'll run into you there. I have a camo center console with a Crappie.com sticker on the back of the yamaha, if you see me give me a holler!
