Default Oh wow, it's longlinin for me now!

Delta done got a notion that long linin is what we need to do now... So, I guess it will be another mornin of boat ridin, and listenin to him mumble about how this is supposed to work! Actually, he don't mumble, but it's hard to hard to hear what he is saying over Wild Cherry singin Play that Funky Music White Boy, if ya know what I mean...
I had to lend him some crank baits and corks the other day, cause he was worried about losin his on the stumps... I just hope he's got plenty of jigs, cause I got the feelin this is gonna be hang up city!
FACT... Those PMs y'all are sendin him are the cause of all this... Ain't no tellin what he will be doin next, if he don't catch some fish soon!
Hate to bail on him, but I plan to get the downriggers going pretty shortly, and see what those big marks are in the edge of the channel about 20 feet down! Won't be no blamin it on my lost mojo after that!

If y’all can make’em eat longlines in June on Barnett please let me in on the secret.
I ain’t never been able to make’em do it. I can always catch a few, but cranks and a single pole have always beat longlining jigs in the summer for me 10 to 1.
Good luck and keep us posted

Actually I've been told that long-lining is the thang ta do down here till the thermocline sets up and it must be true cause I read it on the internet and it's illegal to lie on the internet so I've been told!
Also, Mr. Clifford, I just happen to hate that dang song. Ugh!

Ok, Slab, you gotta send Clifford a cap pronto. That's gotta be what's wrong here. We started out trying the Long lining thing this morning but a cross wind was pushing us sideways faster than we were going forward. Nothing to show for our jig pulling but one hybrid striper. After about an hour of this we put the cranks back on. Managed 3 crappie ( if a fingerling counts as one) and a couple nice blue cats. Those blue cats love pink...

Obviously, the jinx is wearing off a little at a time, cause we actually caught more fish each of the last three trips... If this trend continues, and we go just fifteen more times, we should have a nice mess!
The downriggers waiting on my front porch were a nice finish to the day, especially after the blown out radiator on the way home... My mechanic buddy says he thinks it may be weldable! I love a happy ending..
