That's a tough place to get into in early Spring! Not enough space for parking and launching. I don't care much for that kind of crowding.
Hwy 51 landing was elbow to elbow yesterday. One in 40 caught were keepers. One fight over space.
I went to Elbow creek instead, found 4 keepers in 2 hours with minnows. Green with pink split tail was the bait.
Outfitters med minnows are a mix of super small to large med.

2 trailers on the lot when I got there, the rest were bank fishing. Most have been 160 cars when I drove by.
I fished the run off by the ramp when the lake had a 10" limit and did well.
I used to have decent luck by the ramp as well a few years back off the bank and under the bridge, but can't hardly get a spot there anymore. I swore off putting my boat in coldwater, had some bad experiences doing that (broke propeller, clogged up impeller, and running up on sandbars etc.) I'm surprised elbow creek wasn't elbow to elbow, I thought that was how it got it's name, lol. And I've never had any luck with Outfitters minners, they just don't hold up well for me. Thanks for the report..
I rinsed my hands off in the creek and the first minnow felt warm, yep the water was warmer in the bucket and cloudy. I didn't have ice with me and the air pump didn't keep them alive. Bought 2 dozen and had about 25 when I got home, all dead. The chickens had a good dinner.
Got to get the tank set up for any left over.
