Never used one, good concept but it does nothing to take the strain off your Transom.transom is still going to flex which is the reason for using a transom saver in the first place.

Does not look to me like it actually takes any pressure of of the transom. Weight is still supported at the exact same spot. Only difference is that it takes some of the pressure off of the hydraulic piston on your power trim? The point of a transom saver is to transfer the weight from the transom to some place else.....the back of the trailer in most cases.

I agree, The way I understood a fella at counce was that this is what Yamaha now recommends INSTEAD of traditional transom saver. But like I said, that is what I understood from him. I have done a Google search on the wedge and for what it is worth, everyone was really happy with the wedge and the way it performed with no problems.

There is nothing wrong with it if your concerned about taking the pressure off the lift cylinder and keeping motor up off road. But once again it does nothing to take pressure off of your transom where the motor is bolted on. Follow a boat down the road that does not have a transom saver and watch how the transom will flex.

I use one. And it's intended to keep the motor off the road in case the hydraulics give out. My transom is strong enough to handle the weight of the motor.

They should call that a motor foot saver not a transom saver. Because it does nothing to help the transom.
