    Default Wind Sock

I'm coming down tomorrow from Missouri, if you guys will allow me to, and fish either Sardis, Grenada or enid and I don't own a wind sock. Is there a good place close to buy a couple. Feel like if I'm going to fish in your state I should support the local business owners there. I'm bringing my camper any suggestions where to rent a site at. Thanks in advance Rodney.

It is a little out of your way, but academy sports had some 36" socks for $15. Bass Pro probably has some. Maybe Performance Marine at Como.

3X on the chain. Get good heavy log chain and at least 6 foot tied to a 25 foot rope. Make youself up a couple of these rigs. That'd be the minimum I'd look for, but some other guys might have different opinion on size of chain and length of rope. I'd try to find some 10 lb window weights too. Tie them on if you need more drag. The more rope you have out, generally the slower you will go. Experiment till you feel good bout ur speed.

What they said, I got two brand new drift socks that haven't even been opened since I got my chains, but I am sure at some point and time I will use them.

Put out 2 36" socks this morning and it was a freaking joke, don't spend twice get the 77s or 80s if you are gonna buy socks.
I love my chains, they just weren't in the boat this morning but they are now. I don't pull BIG chains, 5/16 five foot long on 25 foot of rope, 2 sets like this. I also have 2 pieces of 1/4 chain that I can attach to them, if theat wont hold it it you don't have any business on the lake anyhow, go home.
    Safe travels and good luck.

Bout what I go with Rees. Have you used window weights to 'fine tune' your chains? Started that last year and it really works well. Surprisingly, I didn't find much hang up problem with them at all.

I know academy has at least 2 of the 36" socks. Cause I took them back package never opened. I had some chain and rope laying around. Got my money back and then I spent it on those crankbaits that posted about. I swear I can't hold onto a dollar anymore
