Under 12 put back means more fish that spawn this year. which means more small ones next year and so on. U already have so many more smaller fish then bigger ones. Will this make it harder to catch bigger fish over the next few years?
Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.

Anything over 10" is a waste. !0" would be perfect.

5 under 12. I hate releasing a fish that I know won't make it after being gilled. Tough call between legal and ethical...

to simplify things. 3 fish over 6 inches. 4 fish at 10 inches, not above or below. only 6 lb line. there must be a trolling season along with a fly fishing season, as well as a snagging season. only 2 fish per day over 20 inches and stay offa wannabes lake.

some good ideas here, i personally like the keep x amount under 12. i fished sardis all day yesterday and caught in the neighborhood of 40 in the 8 to just under 12. most of them over 10. caught 6 keepers which is fine with me because i just like to fish, catch or no catch.. i would think the powers to be would have to consider enforcement a part of their decision. if limits are to complex the wardens job would me harder than they are now.

Which county did this happen. It should be a matter of public record if true. I hear these reports every year but never any proof surfaces.

I would like to know as well, I live rite in the midst fo these for lakes and never hear anything about this. I do see some freezers in the back of trucks but I dont think much of it, if 3 or 4 guys come down and take back what the law allows then they are gonna have to have a place to keep em.
Another thing, you MO boys must be some bad butt fisherman cause the locals aint catching fesh like that.

Lol, you know it John!!! I've lived in MO for the better part of 50 years and still can't find one place to buy crappie fillets. Nor have I ever found a restaurant that serves them. I did find one at Reelfoot Lake and Kentucky Lake though.

Would like to see a 20 fish boat limit. 5 under 12", just to keep from wasting gill hooked fish.
