Fished mooney the 14th thru the 16th. Caught 30 friday, 28 saturday, and 17 sunday. By Sunday evening only caught 2. Females have dropped their loads and males are sittin in there guarding the nests. fished around youngs landing and the channel monday morning, no fish. Fished turkey creek from about noon till dark. wew was it hot and slow. caught 4 fish all day and those were picked up right at dusk. Although i did catch a nice 2lber. the three of the four were females and still full of eggs and seemed to be gettin close. Saw some fish being pulled out regularly with minners, but of course the only day I didn't buy any they wanted them. Now I'm back in MO and wishin I was in MS, with no vacation time leftGood luck yall and catch a few for me, oh and post some pics so we can see what we are missing out on.-rascal

Went yesterday fished Buzzard Roost caught 29 half on minnows half on jigs. No certain color if they were hungry they would hit it on the fall. Stayed in one place catching fish when a cloud was going over once over the sun came out had to start moving around. All fish caught on the outside of timber in the 3 ft range. Most were still females.

Rain has been sparse in most places its the cooler weather that might affect them some. I still think the water will not cool down much at least not by Sat. also it will take a day or two for the water to muddy up. If the wind isnt blowing 12-20mph you should be able to catch fish. I might try them in the morn. I put in at Hurricane Landing and run the river down to Buzzard Roost its a little closer for me that way. Wyatt Crossing would actually be closer going across the lake.

Wayne and I caught 44 this morning at Okatibbee in 5 to 10 feet of water on jigs with nibbles. Had about 10 nice fish with the rest being 10-11 inchers. They were biting very light, sometimes they would just be there, plus we sure did have a lot come unpined.
