I suggest you go fishing! I have never winterized a boat. I fish 12 months of the year!

There are numerous products on the market than keep you warm and dry in extreme conditions . With some hand warmers and good head gear you can fish in extreme conditions. The best fishing is in the worst conditions. Go get them !

You should never crank or start the motor without the foot in water or a hose hooked up to the foot. You can destroy the impeller.
I never winterize my boat either as I use it all year. Battery's stay on charge when not in use and the boat is stored under a shelter.

I have never winterized my boat either. I live in an area where it's not uncommon to have 6" of ice on the lakes for 40 days. I do have a heated garage..lol. We have a few Power plant lakes around that Never freeze. So you can still find open water even with the temps are in single digits. I just can't see going more than a month without getting the boat out. I would rather fish in single digits than triple digits. Winter is to long and winterizing your boat makes it even longer.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

Fine metal powder and small Shavings is common And Nothing to
Worry about. Chips and chunks are a problem. Anything over say 3 millimeters I'd take to a
    Mechanic and show
    Them what u found.

Naw just ask santa fer a new motor cux cuz ya done got s----ed been there fer the taking myself. Motors are disposable commodities 10 years is max before problems of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ If it aint been used much?????????? jets, fuelpump , water jacket etc. If it has been used a bunch worn out parts are inevitable. Kinda like TP some times you have some to save ? mostly it has seen enough use kinda like your new motor. I would down size my rig if your $$$$$$$$$$ is like mine and have a good boat and new motor that you can afford!!!!!!!!!!! Us old GRAy headed folks have done been through this stage of life. Been wanting a big Ranger for 40 years still can't afford to take one to the lake on a loan $2oo trip boat and truck avg. 150 mi. trip.
