    Default Jig Head sources

Thanks for all the help on sickle hook sizes. One needs all the help he can get when he is almost 70.

Anyone know of good sources for 1/8 oz round head with barb and a #1 red sickel hook and 1/16 oz round head with barb and a #2 red sickle hook?

Yep, Pbugsjigs.com. He's a sponsor here, does good work and "hooked" me up. Get it? Man, I'm on my game today.

Pbug has been off for a few days, something about a family emergency. Not sure what is up but drop him a line anyway.

I make and sell a few jigs each year. I make a 1/16 oz with a #2 red sickle hook and a 1/8 oz with a 1/0 red sickle hook. A few people on this board use them with success.

This man makes the best I have ever fished with!! I have personally caught 70+ fish off the same jig with with very very minimal paint coming off I am talking like maybe lost 10% of paint after those 70+ fish. Also the hooks he uses are very durable and I never got into a pattern where I was having to adjust the hook back to normal after multiple cathces as mentioned, they have the backbone. He is also in my opinion selling em too cheap. I would still buy if the price went up simply cause I know what I am getting.

    Thanks Mr. C

He also has some very good hair jigs they are tying as well!

Hook sizing ranges from small size (with large numbers) to large size (with large /0 numbers). There is no size 0 that I know of. So starting in the middle 1 is smaller than 1/0 2>4>6>8>10 etc 1/0<2/0<3/0<4/0

    1. Go to this web page http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/Content...zing_chart.pdf

    2. Print page 5 of the document full size with NO scaling to fit page. The page scaling should be set to NONE.

The complete chart is good reference for tackle sizing.

Now, just to make it confusing..... These standard sizes vary a bit by manufacturers. The Matzuo hooks I use actually size 1 size larger than is shown on the chart.

I use a #2 in my 1/16 oz jigheads and a 1/0 in my 1/8 oz jig heads.
