Default Need help with over due fishing trip

My father lives in Lakeland, Tn and I would like to take him fishing. Its been about 20 years since we have fished together and he has never been crappie fishing. I normally fish Reelfoot but Sardis is much closer to where he lives. I usually spider rig and feel that or casting would be the best way to go given his physical limitations. I will have to make this happen pretty soon, dad is not able to withstand severe weather conditions so I have to go before the temp gets too high. I have never fished Sardis so any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks.

I would take him out to butla which is closer than all of them. The water stays like chocolate milk, but there is some hellafide fishing there for crappie. I would spider rig just not with as many poles or go jiggin single pole.

Sardis will be heating up soon, Hurricane Landing on the South side and Teckville on the North side both have a lot of standing timber in shallow water nearby that should hold spawners. The lake is up pretty high this year meaning it may be tough to spider rig if there is much wind, it can get pretty rough.
It's all over but the fryin'......

Thank you sir, I really want to make this happen for him. I'm just not used to going to strange lakes, I don't want to take him and get skunked. I really appreciate the info.

Ramps are in good shape, they recently dredged them except for pleasant hill.
