    Default New line set up

I tried a new line setup last weekend and it seemed to work well. I had lost a couple of cranks due to catfish getting caught and then on the retrival wrapping up in my line and nicking or abrading the line with their fins. So to combat this I now have a three foot leader of 20# test PowerPro braid tied to a barrel swivel and then to my main line. Seems to work good so far I have caught several more catfish and have not lost any more baits. It also looks like the catfish slime wont stick to the braid as bad either.

Midnight, on the bill of the crank there is a split ring you tie to. That split ring is attached to a metal loop that's molded into the bill (well, most are designed that way). When we say tuning, we're talking about bending that metal loop left or right to change how well the bait will track as it's being pulled. Most bandits run pretty well out of the package. A few have been plum awful pulling left or right until they roll on me. To fix that, you bend the loop to the opposite way it's running ie if it runs right, bend left. Careful though, a little bend goes a long long way and they are really hard to get tuned to be perfect. I've got a couple that it seems no matter what I do, I just can't get 'em straightened out......I've put them in the give to DD pile. He won't know the difference anyhow.

Default OK, bring them on WB

I'll see which way they turn and put them on that side of the boat on the long rod to get the bait out further.
