Just saying, how many members are limited to fishing on a saturday? I worked 28 years with sunday/monday or monday/tuesday off days. When I did get friday and satursday as off days I didn't want to be in the crowds on saturday, I still don't. One of my sons would like to fish with us, but sunday/monday are his off days. The other son may be off tuesday this week, wednesday next week, thursday the next week. My son-in-law can take off on week days, but on call every weekend.

I understand what you are saying but as we plan these dates we shoot for dates that will suit the majority, there is no worse feeling as an event planner than having a tourney in which only 5 or 6 boats show up. Part of each entry fee is held back until the Championship and then is part of the pay out of that tourney, as committee members we strive to make this pot as big as we possibly can which includes choosing dates that we hope to get the most participation.
I have said this before too, if you would like to have a tourney on some of the days you have mentioned, put it together and if at all possible I will fish it and support it. The Crappie Fishing World is changing in leaps and bounds at this time, that includes the Mississippi Crappie.com Fruit Jar Series. Weights in our tourney are watched like a hawk as well as any other tourneys held in our state, bunch of folks were surprised at the weigh-in at Okatibee last winter, several fish over 2 pounds being weighed in.
I enjoy these tourneys as well as the MCC tourneys and an occasional Crappie Masters along the way, all three are different and are kinda at different levels with the FJs being a little more laid back. All of these 3 series fish Saturday for their one day tourneys and Friday/Saturday if it is a 2 day tourney. Why you ask, simply because that is where the most participation is. Its kinda like having a store that you only open between 2am till 5am because there are 6 customers that would be willing to shop with you then, maybe and you are closed the rest of the day shutting out the potential for many more customers during the day when traffic volumes are higher.
