    Default Got released from the Hospital today


    I had back surgery for an L4 ruptured disk on Wed 15 Feb and got to come home the same day. About 3 days later I started feeling week, sick at my stomach, and running a slight fever, and by Monday I was so bad Marie took me to the emergency room and they did a CT scan of my abdomen and found signs of a possible infection and blood work showed my white cell count over 20,000 (6,000 to 10,000 is normal) they admitted me for more tests. It turns out that there is a nasty little bug you can get from surgery anesthesia or from certain combinations of antibiotics called C-Diff (not sure of spelling). Well to make a long story somewhat short after 6 days of IV fluids and two different types of antibiotics twice a day they sent me home with another 14 days of antibiotics to take. I am week and feel like crap but at least I am home, I hope the crappy bed I had to sleep in did not make my back worse because it is hurting worse than before the operation. Now I need too get motivated to get my back up to speed in time for some fishing.

    Yeah, that c-diff is BAD stuff! I know several people that have had it! I was lucky I guess, I had a new knee put in in Jan and didin't have any problems. Glad to hear you're better.
