So does the WI. & MN. board but I think thats because people up north seem to have the attitude its every man for himself. LOL. I know trout stream info. and walleye bars in my area is "top secret". Down South, I fish ARK. yearly during FEB/MAR., I find the fishermen do share info. more and talk in general to other fishermen. Must be a midwest thing!

I agree. I just really started fishing for crappie and thought I'd learn from a couple of local fisherman. Going 60 to 80 miles one way for some good walleye fishing has gotten old real quick with the price of gas so I done got smart and want to start catching some of them slab crappies that I "know" are swimming right around me. I live within 15 minutes of Maceday, Lotus, Oakland, Loon, and Pontiac lake just to name a few. Flushing aint too far either. Any of you local guys want to team up and do some fishing I'll willing and able, with my boat or yours. I'll post any of the fishing news when I go also. One Shot

I don't know if thats the reason.
I just don't think there are that many die hard crappie fishermen in the north. The hard core crappie chaser's seem to be geographically (SP)wedged in the southern states. Not completely,,, but for the most part.
If you talked to most of the "old timers". I think you would find that most of them have some sort of a southern ties.
My dear departed father was from Obion Tn. and was about the only spec fisherman I knew. Other the the guy he came to Michigan with.

I will also be posting my spring results. I've started tying my own jigs. I have caught a few on them but I'll give em hell this year.

I agree with Flyrod Man. I used to live in Davison and we still have a summer home near Alpena. When I lived there my target fish were perch, pike, smallmouth and salmon. I never fished for crappie. When I moved to South Carolina I started fishing largemouth and even tournaments. Once I really started crappie fishing I was hooked and that is about all I fish for now.
To make life enjoyable, you must have crappie days.

I fish belleville lake and I will post my results on my trips also. Hey one shot, if you need someone to share your boat with I am more than willing, and I don't mine helping with the gas, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CRAPPIES, BABY. Also I have a web page on myspace at URL:www.myspace.com/washingtonoutdoors and welcome anyone to visit and leave pics and tips and anything else they might want to. I am just starting out, so please be patient, but the mich site needs to start sharing info and trying to get together for some fishing and fellowship. I am also goingto post pics from my upcoming trip to Reelfoot Lake at the end of April, if anyone wants info., I am more than willing to share what I know about the place. I will be staying at the Eagle Nest Resort, it's a nice place, the prices are very reasonable and the fishing is out of this world. Hey tonyc662, can you tell me about holloway and mott, I heard but no one can tell me any areas to go to. Here is a group started on myspace.com by a guy named shane, I just joined, the page is called http://groups.myspace.com/michiganders and we are looking for other people to join and fellowship.

    Default Michigan Crappie fishing

Hey Fishnapper, I've read a few post about the crappie fishing in Belleville Lake so when they get to biting I have no problem coming down there to fish with you. I'll bring my boat or whatever is easier. My email address is [email protected] and you can reach me there. Same goes for you TonyC about the Hollaway reservoir. I'm a walleye man but I'm trying to diversify (LOL) and learn about this crappie fishing also. Whatever the case I think it's great that we have a few fisherman that's willing to share their wealth of information to help each other out.

    One Shot
