My scheduled changed for the better today. Or worse, depending on how you look at it. So, I guess I could have gone to Frank's/Northwoods/whatever today!
I've actually done some fishing but not much reporting. I've been sticking close to home and fishing crappies. I actually had to ask Brian the other day "when was the last time we used my boat". He said "if you have to ask, probably too long". We have been using his boat lately as it is much easier to get in and out of the lakes we are fishing. One lake is an electric only lake.
Normally, I use Labor Day weekend as a barometer to plant all of my remaining deer groceries. Oats always go in that weekend. This year we decided to change it up. I did not want to have to be tied down this weekend. We were bored last weekend so we spent it performing maintenance on different equipment that was broken (Steve knows that story), and general work. Got all the stuff planted, all the stuff mowed, and everything ready to go. Even got some rain to boot. This weekend looks like we will be fishing someplace. Not sure where and not sure when, but we will be fishing.
I'm keeping a steady eye on the perch in Erie however they have been non existant the last couple of weeks. Things should pick up once the weather and water cools off. I look for around the 15th of September this year which is a ton later than my normal trips. Walleye is in a holding pattern for the time being as I normally don't start my fall fishing until mid to late October.
