    Default Slabs R Us

A great day on the water started yesterday late morning with my father joining me in the kayak for his first time fishing in three years. He ended up landing his largest crappie ever when he caught a hefty 12 1/2 incher. Dad and I only fished for a little over an hour but managed to put a dozen specks in the kayak, with all of them being over 12 inches, and the largest just over 14 inches. Then after I dropped my father off I headed to a different section of the lake and put the hurtin on more slabs. I ended up landing 58 more, with the majority of them being over 12 inches. I could have ended my day of fishing and called it a great success right after my father landed his big one, but I guess it was just supposed to be a great day for me on the water. Good luck. Be safe. Happy fishing.

It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

That is where we were fishing. Now that I live just a few blocks from Houghton Lake, it looks like I'll be spending lots of hours out there now.

Thanks Don. It sure was great watching him land that one. The real bummer to the day was that just before he landed that big one he lost one right by the kayak that was
    16 - 17 inches. Hope you're having a great Spring Don.
